A change - an improvement - a modification

Aside from making a maniacal drive across the country (twice - there and back again) I spend my time mostly doing commercial photography in Calgary.

After some consideration (as in a year or so) I've changed up my company to be more portrait oriented - and have started a new venture called Alberta Portrait Inc. It will be concentrating more on people photography, including family portraits, baby and maternity photography, personal portraits, and continuing with business portraits and head shots.

Prints for sale

Just opened up an online gallery of photography prints from the Just Over The Horizon trip which a few shots from across the county. This is, of course, a small selection of the thousands of photos I took, but a pretty good sampling of the shots, some great fall colours and other scenes I experienced. Check it out and order one for your decor.

Plans for finishing

Looking over all the shots I did last fall, I think I'll redo the section from Montreal along the Townships. I think the area is much prettier than what I captured on those grey wet days that were after the harvests so nothing really to show. This will set back the book but I think it will be a better book in the end.

So, now I just have to figure out when I can get there and where I'll stay.

A few more of my favourites

I "traded shots" with another tourist who'd asked me to take a similar shot of him at Parliament Hill in Ottawa - don't know if you can see it, but there's a Tim Horton's coffee in my hand - how Canadian is that?

The view from the back side of Parliament Hill, Ottawa.

These lights are to keep the ferry from running onto this little island - the ship was backing up through this harbour.

Early morning on Newfoundland - the clouds were tumbling over the mountains.

These canoes/fishing boats were parked at the side of the river at one of my 50km stops.

One of the more interesting terrains in Newfoundland.

Unfinished Business

A few more images from the trip. Would have like to upload more as I went, but sometimes the connections for the internet were really bad or just did not exist. The last one, was of course, Newfoundland - looking at the Atlantic Ocean.

Overall, 15,000 kilometers from my place to Victoria, to St. John's and back to home.

Pretty amazing trip - this country is so big and so spectacular.

Fall in Fredericton

Got into Fredericton and the colours were pretty amazing on both sides of the water - very nice city.
